Eight-year-old girl dies following alleged drunk driving crash, police say

LONDON, Ont. — Provincial police say an eight-year-old girl has died and a 33-year-old woman is facing drunk driving charges after a crash in southwestern Ontario.

They say the two-vehicle crash happened on Friday evening near London, Ont.

Police say four people from one vehicle were taken to hospital, including the girl, who had life-threatening injuries.

They say the girl has since died, while the other three in the vehicle suffered only minor injuries.

Police allege the driver of one of the vehicles was impaired.

She's been charged with operation while impaired with a blood-alcohol level over .08, and impaired operation causing death.
