We are saddened to announce that on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 Sunni-Blue Angel Yukich, loving mother, daughter, sister, cousin, niece and friend, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 41.
She will be lovingly remembered by her brothers, sister and extended family. And dearly missed by all of her friends.
Sunni-Blue was born on June 25, 1979 at the General Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario. A miracle, weighing only 2 pounds at birth. Sunni spent the first year of her life admitted to Toronto's Sick kids Hospital, battling for her life with complications from a premature birth. Against all odds she would make a remarkable recovery.
Throughout her childhood years she travelled across the country with her family, moving back and forth between Ontario and British Columbia. Before eventually ending up in Sault Ste Marie, where she continued to live until present day. She was the only daughter of Brian and Kim Yukich and the second eldest in a family of seven siblings.
Sunni Blue was a kind and compassionate spirit, a true testament. She was empathetic and open minded with a love for life, and possessed the inherent ability to see the beauty in all. She was honest, and courageous, and never afraid to tell you exactly how she felt. Like her mother her presence was always evident and amplified only more by her smile and infectious laughter.
She was a beautiful Angel who was kind and generous and always willing to give her time and energy to help those in need. She was an advocate for many social causes, and made a positive impact on so many lives.
She was an outdoor enthusiast who was naturally adventurous, and always at awe of the beauty that surrounded her. She was extremely athletic and never let her disability stop her from pursuing her goals. She was a fire cracker and a naturally born competitor, who loved running marathons and always quick to display the pride it gave her.
She loved music and liked to dance and be silly, with a great sense of humor and a quirky personality unique to only her. She was curious and creative, at times seemingly staring in her own real life detective drama.
She was highly intelligent and committed to making the most of the many challenges she faced, these tribulations gave her a unique perspective on life and an obvious talent for poetry.
She constantly wore her heart on her sleeve, was caring and considerate, and loved deeply her family, friends and pets.
She was truly one of a kind and an inspiration to so many. A reminder to always be yourself and to walk through life with conviction. Sunni Blue will forever be remembered as our little sister with the biggest heart.
Extremely proud mother of Myles and the late Mira Klementine Yukich and late Baby Yukich. Beloved daughter of the late Brian and late Kim Yukich. Cherished sister of Yael Blum, Kristan Yukich( Misty),Joel Yukich(Sarah), Brian North (Tammy), Joshua Yukich(Alicia), Joseph Yukich and Shane Yukich. Aunt of Atreyu, Charlotte, Nation, Victrey, Silas, Jubilee, Hope, Forrest, Brian, Khloe, Jack and Mikayla. Granddaughter of the late Tony and Edythe Yukich and the late Frederick William and the Late Elizabeth Anne Bedell and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and Friends are invited to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton and Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705 759 2522) on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 12 until 1pm (40 people maximum at a time, Masks Required). Funeral service in the chapel at 1pm. (40 people maximum). Rev. Hamish Currie officiating.
