YOUNG, Earl N. (Jim)

passed away Sunday, August 31, 2003 at the Sault Area Hospital with his family by his side. Loving husband and best friend for 55 years of Phyllis (nee Cloutier). Father of Susan (Philip) Metzger, Catherine (Robert) Bostelaar and Edward (Bernice).Grandfather of Sarena, Shauna, Heather, Rene, Matthew and Nicholas. Great grandfather of Jackson and Devin. Predeceased by his brothers and sister; George, Stan, Elwood, Doug, Tom, Arnold, Ina, Vera, Nora and Jennie. Jim was an avid golfer and loved to curl. He worked tirelessly on behalf of his fellow workers at Algoma Steel and was involved in the establishment of the Algoma Steelworkers Credit Union and the Group Health Centre. He was very proud of the prominent role he played in drafting the Ontario Health and Safety Act. At the request of Jim, a private family service was held. Memorial donations to the Group Health Centre Trust Fund would be appreciated. Throughout his life, Jim had a dream of becoming a pilot and never had the opportunity to realize his dream.
