Passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at the age of 87.
Beloved husband of Gloria (nee Veltri) of 68 years. Cherished father of Linda Avery (Wade), David (MaryClaire), Debbie Sullivan (Pat), James (Lou), Sandra Edwards (Harvey), and the late George Jr (Sheri). Proud grandfather of Bobbi Avery (Steve), Mike Avery, Christopher (Kaitlyn), Jillian, Sara Gallagher (Robb), Nathan Gallagher (Kaylyn), Zachary (Maggie), Alex, Kate (Ben), Brent Edwards (Krysten), Shawn Edwards, Caleb, and Dae. Great grandfather of Sofi, Patrick, Andrew, Mitchell, Brody, Cohen, Sadie, Noah, Charlie, Madison, Ethan, and Kenzie. Dear brother of Doris Lemay (late Ivan), late Jack (late Leotta), Clarence (Mildred), Ellen Neal (Floyd), and Donna MacDonald (late Ken). Brother-in-law of the late Leah Mezzomo (late Fred), late Val Gerard (late Gordon), late Tony Veltri (late Jean), late John Veltri (late Lillian), late Florence Hewitt (late Arden), late Lilly Deluco (late Albert), late Frank Veltri (Noreen), and late Violet Orlando (late Amadio).
A celebration of George's life will be held at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel on Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 4 pm to 6:30 pm. Memorial contributions by cheque or online to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
