After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with heavy hearts the family of Walter announce his peaceful passing, at the F.J. Davey Home at the age of 93.

Devoted husband to the love of his life for 72 years Gwen Wolowich (nee Johnson). Beloved father of Ronald Wolowich (Debbie), Karen Crossman, Patricia Poirier (Rejean), Leanne Schmid (Terry) and Dawn Kuhlenbaumer (Roger). Loving Papa of Jeffrey, Mischa (Jacob), Gregory, Scott (Nicole), Natalie, Ryan (Tanya), Danny (Crystal), Tyler, Elisa (Chris), Kellen (Jennifer) and the late Jamie. His legacy includes his great grandchildren Emma, Owen, Lilith, Logan, Daniel and Dean. Son of the late Michael and Irene Wolowich. He will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Walter (Wally to many) was a hard-working loving father. He had a great passion for sports, the outdoors, hunting and fishing. His life's journey in hockey allowed him to proudly play for the original greyhounds alongside his twin brother. They also played on several other teams and regularly displayed their determination and passion for the game.

He mastered down hill skiing at Searchmont, carving the slopes with beauty and grace until the age of 83, this never went unnoticed by his seasoned skiing companions.

If not on the ski slopes you would find dad and mom on their wednesday night bowling league. This league spanned over many years and resulted in close friendships and an abundance of cherished memories. He polished his role of disc jockey at the bowling groups numerous parties.

Anyone who knew Walter, knew he would work tirelessly building homes and his much loved cottage at Blue Water Bay. There he spent the majority of his years enjoying his treasured 4 wheeler, daily saunas and swims. Friends and neighbors were always welcomed to share in his beloved paradise which his family frequented.

He resided over 60 years on White Oak Drive in a time where neighbours were just not neighbours, they were family. He unconditionally loved his family and a very prominent childhood memory is, he would frequent us with smart kisses at the top of our head and gently tap them down in hopes of making us smarter in which we are still working on today!

Dad we know in your heavenly journey you will continue to walk beside us and be our pillar of strength and help mend our broken hearts with insurmountable cherished memories.

Your last words soften our grief " I have no regrets."
BUTTERFLY KISSES DAD!
