It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert John Wismer peacefully on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, two days shy of his 91st birthday with his devoted wife Sally at his side.  Lovingly remembered by his daughters Shelley Gold (Ian) and Nancy Albanese (Bart) and his cherished granddaughters Stephanie Albanese (Erich Hildebrandt), Jessica Albanese (Mike Van Huyse), Christina Gold and Michaela Gold.  Caring brother of Betty Carpentier, the late Doris, late George and late Vera.  Predeceased by his parents Ethel and Jim Wismer.  Brother-in-law of Mary Campbell (Dan), Bonnie Trudeau (Joe), the late Sandy MacDonald (Fran), Danny MacDonald (Jan) and the late Susie Alton (Lorne).  Loved and respected by many nieces and nephews.  Special friend of the late Scottie MacDonald, Alberta Booth, Karen and Kim and his extended St. Joseph Island family.  Bob served in the Canadian Armed Forces and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for over 50 years.  Bob graduated from the University of New Brunswick as an Electrical Engineer (P. Eng) and retired in 1984 from a long career in management at Algoma Steel.  He then embarked on an equally long retirement, spending time with Sally between St. Joseph Island and Port Charlotte, FL.  Bob loved woodworking, golfing, boating, cooking, entertaining and participating in community activities.  Bob enjoyed his life to the fullest on his terms.  He generously shared his hospitality, musicality and wonderful sense of humour with many close dear friends. Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of life at Harmony St. Mark's United Church in Richards Landing on Thursday September 20, 2018 with visitation at 1 pm and service to follow at 2 pm.  The Rev. Eun Joo Park officiating.  Members of the Royal Canadian Legion are invited to attend the funeral service  and Legion tribute for Bob Wismer.   Memorial contributions to NSHN Auxiliary (Matthews Site), Harmony St. Mark's United Church or to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.  Special thank you to Amy (Bayshore Nursing) for her extraordinary care of Bob.
