It is with great sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the age of 83.

Devoted wife of Roy for over 52 years. Loving mother of Roy Wing, Rob Davidson (Sandy), Rick Wing, and Rennie Wing (Rhonda). She was the most amazing Gramma of Lindsay Bovingdon (Bryce Grimard), Jeret Davidson, Brenn Davidson (Andrew McKay), Keyly Davidson, Dallas Wing (Marine), and Shawna Wing. Great Gramma (GG ma) of Emersen, Rosie, and Eloise Grimard, and Kaiden, Aurora, Mikleo and Lmnop Davidson. Daughter of the late Mike and the late Bernice Gallagher. Sister of Millie Bak, late Verna Bumbaco, late Ray Gallagher (late Betty), late Marian Miller, late Danny Gallagher, and Terry Gallagher (Diana Lockhart). She will also be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbours.

Her family will miss her guidance, her laughter, and her ability to slide in a joke or poke fun when it was least expected. She lived in the present moment, and made everyone feel at home. The kids always wanted to stay longer at Gramma’s/GG ma’s house. She was matter of fact about life, was clear cut and expressed how she felt. She led by example with her honesty, her courage and the love she showed towards her family. Her sons learned to work hard watching her work for many years at Loblaws. She also enjoyed working at the Fudge Shop in Bruce Mines.

Evelyn loved to cook and bake cakes and cookies for birthdays and family get-togethers. Her butter tarts and trifles were a holiday staple, along with her delicious Christmas cookies. She was always trying new recipes. She enjoyed the quiet moments in life and the excitement of having kids around. She saw the beauty in flowers, in the setting sun, and the changing waves of Lake Superior. She was a true Greyhounds and Blue Jays fan and loved playing and watching curling. She always watched the World Junior Hockey Championship games. She was a proud Canadian.

She was comfort, home, love, and care.

A private family gathering was held Saturday, October 5, 2024. A celebration of life will be held soon. Details will be posted in a couple of weeks. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758). www.northwoodfuneral.com
