August 27, 1949 – December 30, 2024

Maggie passed away comfortably and with dignity in her own home surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Glenn Ruppert. Loving and supportive mother of Derrick Willis (Shantell). Grandma of Kyarra, Talon, Cullen and Kloe. Loving daughter of Albert and the late Mary Willis. Cherished sister of Nancy McKenzie (Dan), Garnet Willis (Dianne) and Garth Willis (Jocelyn). Fondly remembered by the Ruppert family as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Maggie started her career in finances in 1970 and was proud to be on the leading edge of changes for women. She owned her own business in Bruce Mines and worked at various other businesses in the area. She retired from RBC in 2015.

Maggie understood the importance of serving others and giving back to the community. She was the first ever female mayor of Bruce Mines and was very proud of this achievement. She volunteered with many organizations such as the Bruce Station Horticultural Society and the annual Holy Walk. She was instrumental in spearheading and implementing the local recycling program.

She was a dedicated writer and contributor to the North Shore Sentinel Newspaper.

Maggie’s lifetime achievements were made public at the Bruce Mines Citizen of the Year Awards of 2017. There she received an outpouring of love and appreciation.

Maggie wants her loving family and dear friends to know that she has treasured your comments, hugs, photos and messages.

In her words….“Keep on doing, giving, loving and live your best life”.

The family wishes to thank the home care people, especially Dr. Haapala, Amy and Celena for their compassion and care.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Maggie’s life on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 12pm to 5pm at Bruce Mines Royal Canadian Legion Branch 211, 9248 Highway 17, Bruce Mines. Light luncheon will be served.
