Peacefully passed away at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Wednesday, October 31st, 2018 in her 101st year. Beloved wife of the late Wesley George Wilding for over 71 years.  Daughter of the late Florence Gernon and Leopold Doggett.  Loving Mother to Larry, Linda Vardy (George), Brian (Brian).  Proud Grandmother to Paul (Jackie), Michelle (Eddy), Rachel (Vernon).  Great Grandmother to Jasmine Vardy, Martti Valitalo, Hailly and Kurtis Poole.  Mother-in-law to Liz Wilding.  Sister of the late Frank Goodship (late Olive, late Margaret), late Horace "Charlie" Goodship (late Evelyn), late Vera Taylor (late Stanley "Jack"), late Leopold "Leo" Doggett (late Shirley, late Lorraine), late Ivy Wilding (Thomas).  Sister-in-law of the late May Stone (late Jim), late Alex Wilding (late Alice), late John Wilding (late Toots, late Isabel), late Maude Mellon (late Pat, late Walter "Walt" Darlow), late Lydia Yeaman (late Kirk), Thomas Wilding (late Ivy), Marion Hotchkiss (late Hoy).  Sylvia will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Special thanks to the staff of the Finnish Resthome (especially Jackie) for all their loving care and compassion for Mom over the years.  Also many thanks to ARCH and all their staff who made Mom's final journey peaceful while surrounded by a loving and caring family.  Thanks to Dr. Barbeau and Dr. Booth for special care given to Mom.  Sylvia was also a lifetime member of The Prince of Wales Women's Institute.  When it disbanded in 1983 she then joined Prince Women's Institute.  Sylvia was Prince of Wales Branch President and Algoma Centre District President.  Sylvia was a member of the Women's Anglican Altar Guild and Christ Church ACW for many years. Friends may visit at the Arthur Funeral Home- Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. - 705-759-2522) on Monday, November 5th, 2018 from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm.  Funeral service from the chapel to follow at 1:00 pm.  Rev. Earl Burke officiating.  Interment Greenwood Cemetery.  Memorial donations to A.R.C.H, Christ Church or the Ontario Finnish Resthome Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.
