Passed away suddenly at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday, November 3, 2024, in his 78th year.

Survived by his wife Debbie Whalen and sons Mark (Sharleen), Terry, and Kris (Sue). Cherished grandfather to Ivy, Dani, Haley, Grace, Ben and Joe.

Terry is survived by his mother Betty Whalen and predeceased by his father Harry Whalen. Brother to Sharon (late Tom) and Harry. Son in law of the late Joan Haner and Edward Stewart. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Special friend to Bob Nelson.

Terry was known for his vast knowledge of car repairs and bodywork, a skill he took great pride in sharing with others. His dedication to the craft was not only a personal passion but also a gift he passed down to his sons. His son Kris, inspired by his father, pursued a career in Repair, Collisions, and Parts.

Terry played in a band for several years and never lost his touch with the guitar. His musical legacy continued as he taught his sons and granddaughter Ivy the basic chords of guitar playing. Terry enjoyed fishing trips with his sons, when they were young and as adults. He also had many great times with his brothers-in-law, Kevin, Bud, and Abdi.

A proud member of the Street Rod Club, Terry was the proud owner of a 1952 Chevy Convertible and a 1938 Ford Pickup, which were not just vehicles to him but treasures that he restored and cared for with love. The club was a source of many joyful experiences and lasting friendships, including those with Bob Poirier, Mark Pavelich, and many others who shared his passion.

The joy of family gatherings was the highlight of Terry's life. He cherished the moments when everyone came together for an evening fire or a spirited game of cards.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at O’Sullivan Funeral Home (215 St. James St, SSM) from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
