With profoundly heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Bill Wanamaker on Friday, December 18, 2020 as a result of a cardiac event.
Predeceased by his parents William Ernest and Reta Wanamaker. Survived by his devoted wife Valerie McCaig, his adoring children Shawna Wanamaker (Robert McGregor), Billie-Jo Wanamaker (Scott MacWilliam), Cybill Wanamaker and Lohgan Lethbridge. Proud Papa of Reta-Catherine Wanamaker and Dakota Mageran. Cherished great grandfather of Echo Wanamaker. Dear brother of Irene Gionette (Ned) and Terry Smith (Sandra). Predeceased by siblings Donna Abel (Orval Hotchkiss), Barbara Tucci (Norman), Bernita Meunier (late Luc), Glenda Zappacosta (late Camy). Bill will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 4 pm to 6:30 pm (Maximum capacity 40 people at a time, masks are required). A private funeral service will be held in the chapel. Due to Christmas which Dad loved, his convoy will depart Arthur Funeral Home on +December 29 at 3 pm to Greenwood Cemetery for his interment. If you would like to join, please arrive at Arthur Funeral Home between 2:30 pm and 2:45 pm and remain in your vehicle. A celebration of life is being planned and will be held at Harmony Beach in the summer of 2021. Memorial contributions may be made by cheque to Cybill Wanamaker to set up a trust account for her education.
