Peacefully at the Extendicare Maple View on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the age of 93.  He was born in his beloved Nova Scotia on August 15, 1925 to the late Karl and Laura Wagner.  He was the beloved husband of the late Honora Wagner (nee Crocker).  Caring stepfather of Joan Zachary-Curtin (Maurice) and Kenneth Perry (Laurel) of Fort Frances, ON.  Proud grandfather of Jason Zachary, Trevor Zachary (Julie), Kara Benka (Chris), Rachelle Hawryluck, Kenny Perry (Megan) and Sheldon Bourassa (Tracey), loving great grandfather of Ava, Halle, Ty, Ella, Abbi, Carter, Hunter,  Damien, Tiffany and Christopher and great great grandfather of Dawson, Elias and Violet.  Cherished brother of Annie Bradley (late John), Cpt. Earle Wagner (late Ruth), late Ferne Hillier (late Arthur), late Moran Wagner (Faye), late Barbara Bedley (late Robert) and late Carl Wagner Jr. (Edna).   Brother-in-law of Phyllis Barrett (Roy), Shirley Leach, Chesley Crocker (Peg) and predeceased by Sterling Crocker, James Crocker (Ivy) and Lorna Shaffstall (Dick) and nieces Beverley Crocker-Ruetz and Robin Crocker-Sooley.   Max will also be missed by many special nieces, nephews and friends.

Maxwell (Max) enlisted in the Air Force and served in WWII. He was a Distinguished Volunteer with the Lions Clubs of Sault Ste. Marie and Meadowvale as he was recognized by the Ontario Government for over 30 years of service with that organization.   He was a 50 plus member of the Royal Canadian Legion and The Beaches Masonic Lodge No. 473.  Friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral service to be held in the chapel on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11am.  The Rev. Phil Miller officiating.  Cremation to follow with internment in Pleasantville, NS. during the summer of 2019.  Memorial contributions to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 Veterans Affairs would be greatly appreciated. We have never known a Prouder Canadian.

Members of the Royal Canadian Legion are requested to assemble at the Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel on Monday, October 15 at 11 am for a memorial service for the late Maxwell Wagner
