June 14, 1957 – March 11, 2025

With broken hearts we are saddened to announce the peaceful yet unexpected passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend Janet Ellen Vosper Bye in her 68th year, in the comfort of her own home. “My Lovely Wife” of 40 years to Barry. Loving “Mazzah” of Mackenzie Lu and Francis Walker (Julie). Sister of Valerie LeBlanc (Michael), Lorna Green (Basil), Sue Vosper (Barry Kingshott), Rick Vosper (Sam), Max Vosper (Wendy) and Carol Vosper. Sister-in-law of Bill Bye (late Claudette), Bonnie, and Bob Bye (late Carol). Beloved daughter-in-law of the late Elgie Bye and the late Sylvia Bye.

Janet was a loving and devoted aunt to her many nieces and nephews. They will deeply miss her wise and friendly guidance, her cookies, cakes, hugs and wit. Her extended family will miss her at the 'Vospermania' family reunions. As will her dear friends, all of whom she cherished immensely. Predeceased by her parents Herb and Lu Vosper and siblings Tom (late Mary), Bob (late Pat), Nancy Hall (late Jim) and Sandra Vosper (Clive Giles).

Janet loved life and lived it to the fullest. Family and friends meant the world to 'Old Janet' and she showered them with love, laughter, understanding and cookies ("Auntie Beer and Cookies" to some). She was skilled in nurturing relationships that resulted in “Bear” and “OJ” being blessed with so many great friends.

Janet was a passionate gardener, and one of the intrepid crew known as 'The Garden Hoes'. Her Yard, ('Inn the Pines') is a tamed and tangled Garden of giant ferns, tall grasses, twisted trees, lush blooms and whimsically placed objects, reflecting the rich life Barry and Janet carved out north of Bruce Mines. The support and assistance of the 'A-535 Gang', and 'The Eh? Team' lightened the load with levity.

Janet's kitchen bubbled with laughter as she prepared her favourites' favourites - potted meat, hot chocolate, 'Red and Black Meat' and 'Five Kisses Cake'. She happily shared all her kitchen secrets. (Wait until they are hungry and everyone will ask you for the recipe).

The family wishes to thank all our faithful friends for helping us through this devastating time. Peggy was her sister from another Mother. Brad and Bev have been our lifelong friends and a constant support for the family. Ron and Cathy have been the epitome of good neighbours, always ready to trek up the hill for any reason.

As per Janet’s wishes, her ashes will join the rich earth of her garden and be borne aloft in the winds over Lake Superior. Her laughter and her love will linger. Her smile is in the air and the earth around us.

There are no formal services. Arrangements entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home.
