August 29, 1939 - November 15, 2024
With deep sadness we announced that Elane has died peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2024, in her 85th year.
Predeceased by her parents Jack and Emily Turner (nee Wyatt), siblings John Turner (Shirley), Ken Turner (Helen), Chuck Turner (late Evedine), Marguerite Hambly (late Nyle), Ann Wilson (Delmar) and Brenda Frayn (Chuck).
Elane was dedicated to her family never missing a get together, wedding, graduation, the birth of the newest member of the family or the girls afternoon “Garage” party. Survived and remembered dearly as a second mom to many nephews and nieces. She was a great mentor and friend. She loved and adored her great nieces and nephews, always involved in their lives as much as she could.
Elane was a hardworking and loyal employee, beginning her career at Weyerhaeuser and finally retiring as an inspector for the Sault Ste. Marie City Transit.
Her love for baseball was not only playing but also participating as an umpire for many years. She spent many hours entertained watching her two favorite teams, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Elane was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25. It was here that she participated in the Legion Color Party, Burial Committee and the Poppy Room.
Elane is fondly remembered as a very loving daughter, sister and sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt and great-great aunt. She was fiercely independent and kind. She will be greatly missed by all who know and love her.
