We are very sorry to announce that Bill passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024, in his 80th year, at the Sault Area Hospital, Sault Ste. Marie, ON, after a battle with COVID.
Beloved son of the late Henry Tomkins and Verna (Condie) Tomkins of Manotick and Ottawa, Bill will be forever loved and missed by his siblings, Susan, Marg, Brian (Dianne), Terry (Nicole) and Bruce (Debbie), all of Ottawa, and by his extra “sister”, Betty McInnis of Westport.
He was a treasured uncle and cousin to many nieces, nephews and cousins and their families, as well as legions of friends in Ottawa and Sault Ste. Marie, where he lived and worked for more than 50 years (Great Lakes Forestry Centre). Especially remembered by Tim Lynham of Sudbury.
Cremation has taken place. There will be celebrations of life both in Manotick and the Sault at a later date.
