(July 16, 1936 – August 25, 2018) - After a courageous battle, peacefully at Sault Area Hospital on Saturday August 25th, 2018. Loving husband to Barbara (Beatty), sons Craig (Philippa) and Scott (Kimberly). Proud and caring grandfather to Jack, Avery, Addison and Walker. Pre-deceased by parents Jack and Edna Thompson, brothers Kenneth and Kim, sister Carol (Phil Israel), brother-in law Don Beatty and sister in-law Valerie Beatty. Brian will be missed by sister Maureen Purificati (Gino), sister in-law Cathy Thompson, sister in-laws Joan Ward (Nelson), Brenda Hillman (Pete), brother in-laws Paul, Bruce (Carol), Barry and Bill Beatty. Brian was a special cousin to Doug, Janiss and Jennifer and a favourite uncle to nieces and nephews. A golf partner to many at the Sault Golf & Country Club and Wild Bluffs Golf Course. He enjoyed years of skiing at Searchmont, curling with the Soo Curlers, anything outdoor related and taking care of the amazing neighbours he had on Florwin Dr. Memorial visitation to take place at Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E, 705-759-2522) on Thursday August 30, 2018 from 6 – 8 pm. A private internment for family to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation. Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people from the Sault Area Hospital who took such great care of Brian.
