(late Hoy), and the late Lydia Yeaman (late Kirk). Brother-in-law of the late Frank Goodship (late Olive, late Margaret), late Horace “Charlie” Goodship (late Evelyn), late Leopold Doggett (late Shirley, late Lorraine), late Vera Taylor (late Stan “Jack”), and the late Sylvia Wilding (late Wesley).
Beloved Father of the late Norman Clair Doggett (Nadine), Terrance Thomas Wilding (Susan), Randall “Brent” Wilding (Lori), Danni Wayne Wilding (Vicky), Deborah Lynn Wilding, and Nancy Maria Margaret Croft (Warren). Proud Grandpa of the late Christopher, Cherie (Dan), Norman, Clint, Jane, Nicole (Dan), Christopher (Lara), Karen (David), Jennifer (Ryan), Kenny (Kelly), Michael (Kristin), Wade (Michaela), Mark (Stephanie), Kyle, Danielle, Tyler (Tania), and Jesse (Nicole). Great Grandpa of 21 and Great Great Grandpa of 1. Thomas will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and clientele of his many farm products.
Thomas was born at home into a pioneer family in Korah Township, growing up hauling coke and clearing logs from bush lots with his Brothers. The Wildings had a large homestead farm located on Second Line where he acquired his love of gardening and farming. Thomas was called to action for the Canadian Army during World War II. He married his beloved Wife, Ivy in 1947 and they bought
their own farm on Goulais Avenue in 1948, where they raised their 6 children. They grew a large vegetable garden and proudly supplied grocery stores with fresh produce. Thomas also cared for numerous livestock and cut and baled hay and grain to supply other livestock owners for over 70 years. He was a member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows for over 30 years, raising funds for medical equipment for the local hospitals. Thomas worked as a General Foreman at Algoma Steel in the 25 inch Mill for over 42 years. Thomas passed on the values of honesty, hard work and integrity, as well as a love of the outdoors to his children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
