Peacefully surrounded by family at Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at the age of 92.

Predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Marjorie Sweezey and his brother Dan (late Loretta). Uncle of Dan Jr. Sweezey (Theresa), Marjorie Martone (Joe) and David Sweezey. Great uncle of Kyle Sweezey (Joyce), Heather Sweezey (Carey Spiece), Joe Martone (Jennifer), Michael Martone (Angela), Ryan Sweezey and Tyson Sweezey (Gillian). Special great great uncle of Sammy and Lilly. Ken valued his many friendships especially with the late Kelly Sweeney (Carol), the late Adrian Hoke (Josephine), Norris Payette and Rose Grandinetti.

Ken lived his life to the fullest and on his own terms. In his youth, he was known as a talented hockey player and later an avid skier. He helped cut some of the first trails at Hiawatha and Stokely. He loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing and cycling. He put many miles on his bike cycling throughout Europe, Canada and the U.S.A. Ken was a great storyteller and relished sharing his life's adventures. Many will remember him sitting in his chair at Harmony Beach and shooting the breeze with friends, acquaintances or others who passed by. Later in life, the only thing Ken loved more than watching his beloved Blue Jays while sipping a whiskey, was driving his Volkswagon convertible with the top down on a warm sunny day.

As per Ken's wishes, he will be laid to rest with his mother at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donation (payable by cheque or online) to ARCH or to the Soup Kitchen would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the family.

The Sweezey family would like to thank the staff at ARCH and 2C at the Sault Area hospital for their attentive care and compassion provided to Uncle Ken.
