It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of John, at home on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the age of 75, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's.

Beloved husband and best friend of Bonnie. Father of Jamie (Therese), and Rick. Grandfather of Christian, Matthew ( Ocean). Great-Grandfather of Silver Skye. Predeceased by his parents Sophie and Frank Stillert. Adored by his step-mother Elaine Stillert. Son-in-law of the late Dorcas and Milton Croghan. Dear brother of Christine McLean (Paul), the late Jean McFarling (Steve), Jerry (Suzanne), and Susan Tagliabracci (late Vince). Cherished brother-in-law of Valerie Croghan, late Nora Croghan, Milton (Francis), Shelley Croghan, late Barry (Yvonne), late Jeffrey, and Michael (Rhonda). John will be fondly remembered and tremendously missed by his many nieces and nephews for his fun loving sense of humour.  Forever missed and always remembered by his childhood friends Frank Robinson (Ruth), and Paul Martin (Sheila). Very special friend of Kelly and Marilyn Ambeault.

John was born in Hanover, Germany and moved to Sault Ste. Marie at the age of two. He was a gifted athlete and excelled at every sport he played. His greatest accomplishment was scoring a perfect game in bowling. He was always willing to take on anyone at a game of chess, and loved watching sports of any kind. Before his battle with Parkinson's, John was a phenomenal cook, and always sent Bonnie to the store for any special ingredient he needed.

Bonnie and John loved to travel and would pick up and go at a moments notice. He was game for anything. Many will remember his sense of humour and the jokes he loved to play.

At John's request no services will be held. Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Memorial donations payable by cheque or online to the Parkinson's Canada or Cystic Fibrosis Canada would be greatly appreciated.

Special thanks to Dr. Bruni, Dr. Adams (Markam, ON), and the Bayshore nurses for all their care and compassion shown to John. Heartfelt gratitude to John's brother Jerry who was his go-to guy and was always by his side.

Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Stillert family.
