It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Betty at the age of 82. Loving wife of Jimmy Stafford for over 51 years. Cherished mother of Vicki Rancourt (Martin) and Suzie Caron (Roger). Proud Grandma of Stephanie Rancourt (Mark Wilding), Adam Rancourt (Michelle Cunningham), Christine Vasquez (Miguel), Mitchell Dewar and Alex Caron. Dear sister of Cathy Belsito (Tom). Sister-in-law and aunt to many.
Betty enjoyed travelling, where she and her husband took many Caribbean vacations and had countless adventures including gliding over the mountains in Hawaii, a Great Lakes freighter cruise, a Windjammer supply boat excursion, and countless others. Betty especially loved her winters in Costa Rica. In her spare time she loved to Knit creating beautiful sweaters for her daughters and grandchildren. She was an avid card player and loved to bake.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Nurse Steph from 3C at the SAH.
As per Betty's request cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to the Alzheimer's Society of Sault Ste. Marie. or A.R.C.H would be greatly appreciated by the family.
