April 26, 1941 - January 20, 2025

Jim "The Numbers Man", passed away peacefully and quietly (as I knew he would), following a courageous fight with dementia at Extendicare Maple View. Forever loved and treasured by his wife and best friend Hezilie.

Loving father of Karen MacDonald (Shawn). Step-Father of Teresa and Sean (Kelly). Gramps of Jamie, Danny and Joshua. Predeceased by his parents Russel and Florence Sproule. Dear brother of Gwen McKinnon (late Reg). Predeceased by his father and mother-in-law Andy and Edie Kerr. Brother-in-law of Dianne Kerr, Sharron Rogers, Judy Johnstone (Trevor) and Andy Kerr (Jane). He will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.

Jim was a Chartered Accountant for all of his career and became a partner with KPMG until his retirement.

Jim joined the Lakeshore Kiwanis Club, on October 21, 1964, three years after the club was chartered, and became President in 1969-1970. He was a dedicated Kiwanian for the past 60 years and has been the Kiwanian of the Year on three occasions. His dedicated work throughout the years earned him a Mel Osborne Fellow, Harvey Buchan Memorial Distinguished Service Award, Walter Zeller Award and the United Way Volunteer Service Award. Jim played an important role in the club since the very beginning. He was named Secretary/Treasurer on the original and founding Board of Directors of Camp Wakonda and remained in that role until it's sale in 2015.

He then became Treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of Lakeshore Foundation after the sale and continued in that role until he could no longer continue. He was to receive his 60 year Ontario Volunteer of the Year award this coming spring at the annual reception. Even after his illness, he continued to be a proud member. He kept abreast of the activities and successes of the club and wore his Kiwanis shirt when Kiwanians would visit him. He is a member and friend that will never be forgotten.

He was a long standing member of St. Jerome's Catholic Church where he served on the Finance Committee for many years. Jim was also involved with the Labatt Brier in March of 1990 as the Director of Finance. He has been a dedicated supporter of the Soo Greyhounds since 1972.

I know Jim would have liked to give special thanks to his step-daughter Teresa for always being there from the beginning and "keeping the Country music going".

Special thanks to all the PSW's and Nurses, especially Doris, Shivani, Shreya, Sam, Dimitri, Keisha, Stacy, Jen, Taylor and especially Keith with his gentleness and compassion with Jim when he passed.

Thanks to Father Jeff for coming to give Jim the Last Rites, which I truly believe helped him to pass peacefully.

Lastly, from the bottom of my broken heart, thank you to my daughter Teresa for all you did for Jim these past many years. Love you, Mom

Good night My Love, sleep well, I'll see you in the morning.......
