Passed away peacefully at the age of 91 with her family by her side at the Sault Area Hospital.
Predeceased by her husband Marland Alfred Smith. Loving mother of Marlie (Marina), Sheri (Christian Gagne), Shene (Jennifer) and Vonda (Kevin Morrison). Cherished grandmother of Tom (Erin), Jaimie-Lynn, Brandon (Chantal), Matthew, Rebecca, Bryce, Adam and Nathan. Great grandma of Carter, Ellie, Chad, Logan, Caleb, Matthew, Lincoln, Jessica and Amy. Great great grandmother of Noah and Levi. Predeceased by her parents Hanson and Ona Digby (nee Hayworth). Predeceased by her mother and father-in-law Tom and Albena Smith. Predeceased by her sister Dorothy Cooper, and brother Bob Digby. Ever remembered by her brother Alan Digby (Shirley) and her sisters-in-law Colleen, Doreen, Carol and Zella. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Doris will be missed by many friends and extended family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kate V., Kelly, Connie, Danny, Kashima, Rose, Dr. Woolner and Dr. Rebecca at the Sault Area Hospital 3B - 309 for all their care and compassion at this time. Friends and family are welcome to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton and Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) for visitation Saturday October 14, 2023 from 11 am until 1 pm, service to follow at 1 pm. Burial to take place on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 - 11 am at Goulais River Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation (payable by cheque or online) to A.R.C.H. or the Humane Society can be made in Doris's honour.
