1967 – 2024
It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Jason at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) on Monday, December 23, 2024. Devoted and proud father of Oliver and Winston. Beloved son of the late Laura Wallace (nee Skinner) and William Wallace (late Jean). Brother of the late Charlotte Bisier and the late Patti Smith. Uncle of Kyle Bisier (Alyshia) and great uncle of Owen and Vada. He will be fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jason loved the outdoors, hiking, biking, skiing, fishing and hunting. He especially enjoyed taking the boys on many adventures. He cherished every opportunity to travel, explore and continually learn. Jason was a skilled journeyman millwright at Algoma Steel and a savvy entrepreneur running Smith’s Yardpro. Mostly, he will be remembered for always showing kindness and compassion to people around him, helping out whenever he could.
Special thank you to lifelong friends Dean, and Chris for the final bike tour and all their support and care.
Jason was proud to be of Anishinaabe ancestry and was given the name Misko Miigwan through an Ojibwe ceremony.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road) on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a time of sharing taking place at 3:00 p.m. Interment to follow. Memorial donations to Hope Air, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Lodge would be greatly appreciated by the family.
