Peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Monday, November 14, 2022.
Beloved wife of the late Dennis Smalec. Loving mother of Cole (Lauren) and Michael. Grandma Neenee of Saige and Casey. Predeceased by her parents Dan and Joy McPhee. Sister of Laura McPhee, Donna and Mike House (Calgary, AB). Sister-in-law of Mary and the late Robert Scarrott (Burlington, ON), Anne and Jim Elliot and Ron and Jackie Smalec (Burlington, ON). Daughter-in-law of Helen Kucyk (Steve) and the late Mykola Smalec. Aunt of Peter (Melissa) and Jeff Scarrott (Kim), Jamie (Tina), Joyce (Bryan) and Jeff Elliot (Vicki) and Ellen House (Stefan). Great aunt of Grace, Sophia, Hazel, Chloe, Thomas, James, Victoria, Nicholas, Nash and Wesley. Mary will be missed by cousins and friends.
Mary will always be the epitome of love and light to her friends and family. Being a wife, mother, aunt and grandmother were her biggest joys and she was devoted and loyal to these responsibilities until her final days. Mary was a blessing in all the lives she entered and will be dearly missed. We will always remember her laugh; her generosity and the smell of cherry Blistex with every kiss she gave.
At Mary's request a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions payable by cheque or online to A.R.C.H. or S.A.H. Cancer Care Fund would be appreciated.
