It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our grandmama Gilberte at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the age of 95 years.
As the last surviving Marconi, she was mother to the late Donald Russell Pickersgill. Proud grandmother of Carrie Pickersgill and the late Darren Pickersgill; great-grandmama of Jacob, Riley, Kiara and Scotty; great-great-grandmama of Jayce, Jayda, Owen, Jack and Alicia. Loving Patante to her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents James Marconi and Clarida (nee Gauthier) and many brothers and sisters.
We are comforted to know that she made the journey alongside her beloved nephew and has been reunited with her dear son, grandson, parents, brothers and sisters. We would like to extend our gratitude to the staff of Extendicare Maple View and Sault Area Hospital.

He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never, get well on this earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eye lids, and whispered “Peace be thine.”
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone.
For part of us was went with you, the day God called you home.
And though we cannot see you, you are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.”

In keeping with Gilberte's wishes, cremation has taken place, there will be no service. Memorial donations made to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
