(October 14, 1953 – May 21, 2024)
It is with sadness that we the family of Jeanne Patricia Shaw wish to announce her peaceful passing, on May 21, 2024 at Woodingford Lodge, Tillsonburg,  . Jeanne was born in Sudbury, Ontario. She was raised by Colin and Theresa Shaw of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario.

In 2019, Jeanne moved from Calgary, Alberta to Tillsonburg to be closer to her brother Colin and his family as she always had a strong relationship with them. Jeanne is lovingly remembered by her daughter Chantel Skrilec (husband Collin), of Thunder Bay. Jeanne is survived by her siblings Colin (Anne) Shaw, of Tillsonburg; Ken (Patricia) Shaw, of Sault Ste Marie; Darlene (Jim) Cook, of Sault Ste Marie; Mike (Kim) Cepla, of Brownsville; Janice (Michael) Rejewski, of Derby, New York; Susan (Jeff) Antoszek, of Smith Falls. Also survived by her ex-partner, Val Seeley, of Calgary, Alberta. Predeceased by her siblings Debbie Shaw and Mary Mousseau. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

After graduating from Sir James High School Jeanne enrolled at Algoma Regional School of Nursing. She began her Nursing career at The Plummer Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie. In 1979 she moved to Calgary, Alberta and worked at Foothills Hospital as a surgical recovery nurse.  In 2000 Jeannie became a Diabetic Educator working with patients and teaching them how to deal with living with the disease. She travelled through Canada and U.S.A. teaching how to live with diabetes.

Those that knew Jeannie always found her to be very caring, thoughtful, and willing to help family or friends. She loved to read, sew, cook, and entertain her dear friends. Jeannie will be remembered for her love of Tim Horton’s Coffee and for always putting others before herself.

Thank you to the nurses and staff of Cedar Crest area at Woodingford Lodge Nursing Home that went way beyond helping Jeanne.

In keeping with Jeanne’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. Jeanne’s remains will be scattered in Calgary, Alberta, later.
