After many years of courageously fighting cancer, with heavy hearts, the family announces the peaceful passing of Lisa. On Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the age of 49, surrounded by her loving family, Lisa passed away with grace and dignity. She was a light in the lives of everyone who knew her—a selfless, strong, and passionate soul whose bubbly personality brought joy to all. She did whatever she had to do to tackle her health issues and kept a positive attitude despite all her setbacks. Lisa shared her life with her sweetheart, Frank Brunetta. She was the beloved daughter of Joanne Scullino and Sam Scullino (Linda). Sister of Terry Scullino and Christine Zarechney (Gary) who will miss her immensely. She was the favorite aunt of Vic and Tom Zarechney (Ashley) and a devoted great-aunt to Bailey. Daughter-in-law of Elsie and Frank Brunetta Sr. Loving stepmom and friend of Andrea Brunetta (Jacob) and Stephen Brunetta (Shanna). Best Gigi to Blake, whom she adored with all her heart and would do anything to spend time with her no matter how she was feeling. Lisa was deeply connected to her family, including her cousins in the Borgogelli and Gleason families as well as the Brunetta family. She will be so very missed by Mocha who loved to cuddle under a blanket on her lap. Lisa always put others before herself, ensuring everyone around her felt loved and cared for. She held a special place in her heart for many little ones she taught, as well as the many friends she met through her years with Child Care Algoma and the Algoma District School Board. Her strength, kindness, and unwavering spirit will never be forgotten, and her light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved her.
A private family service was held. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life “Come & Go” at the Grand Gardens (1324 Great Northern Road) on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Please wear Lisa’s favourite colours: orange, brown or yellow. To honour Lisa’s wishes, memorial donations to Tracy’s Dream would be appreciated.
