SCHIEFER, Nancy Ann – at home on May 9, 2023, Nancy Ann Schiefer (nee Moore) of London, age 91.
Beloved wife of the late Walter J. Schiefer (2012). Loving sister of Paul (2019) and sister in law of Sandra Moore. Aunt of Jim (Mary) and John (Elena Fera) Moore, of Sault Ste. Marie, and Jay Dunseath (Paulina), also from the Sault, and Stacey Dunseath and Simon Duley of Toronto. Nancy was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie and made her home in London, Ontario. At Nancy’s request, private family arrangements have taken place. Friends wishing to make a donation in memory of Nancy are asked to consider the London Humane Society or a charity of their choice.
Nancy didn’t want a terribly long obituary, but we as a family feel we need to tell you more about this incredible woman. A voracious reader and gifted journalist, Nancy wrote book reviews for the London Free Press for decades. She loved cats more than most people, and adored the Toronto Blue Jays and the sparkling waters of Batchawana Bay, Ontario. She loved to be around people, always curious, always a gracious host. She had many dear friends, and she will be sorely missed by all those who knew her. Special thank you to Sue, TJ, Perry and John for caring for this special woman.
