February 6, 1956 – March 8, 2025
We are saddened to announce the passing of our loving father, brother, uncle and friend at the age of 69. Proud father of Elizabeth and Patrick. Strong and protective brother of Brian (Lyne Briand), Francis and Nancy Friese (Dean). Fun loving uncle of Jessica, Joey, Robert, Jacob and Cameron. Stephen is reunited with his parents the late Frank and late Jean (nee Rose) Schellekens as well as his brother the late Robert. Lovingly remembered by aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Stephen loved hockey. He played from the time he could walk until he couldn’t anymore. He was involved in his son Patrick’s hockey adventures and coached him for many years. He was an avid Habs fan.
Stephen was a true outdoorsman. He was always on and in the water enjoying fishing, boating, waterskiing, scuba diving and swimming. A devoted walker and cyclist, he spent all his spare time in nature.
Stephen was a dedicated family man whose kids always came first. He loved to host family events; his home was the centre of many family gatherings. We will forever miss his quick comebacks and one liners….his sense of humour will live on.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Stephen can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada at www.alzheimer.ca and are appreciated by the family.
