With heavy hearts, we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved “Tony” who passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday November 9th, 2022, at the age of 66. We find comfort knowing that he is now peacefully reunited with his cherished mother Mary Rutkauskas (nee King). Survived by his father Antanas Rutkauskas Sr., Sisters Marija Liboiron (Ronald) and Maryte Running (Jim), and Brother James (Anne), greatly missed by his son Tony (Tracey), granddaughter Taylor, step grandchildren Meghan and Jeffrey, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends.

Big T had many loving memories and stories to be told from the day his family moved to Canada from England, the days when he worked at the Steel Plant and the days spent during retirement. He loved to golf, and travelled to tee off on different greens. He was an avid Boston Bruins fan. Had a passion for fancy cars and medieval novelties. He spent his free time taking his granddaughter on lunch dates to the park, visiting his mother’s grave on her birthday to send off the most beautiful balloons they could find. He was always up for a coffee and just to chat. He wore his heart on his sleeve and demonstrated compassion. He was always there for his family. He was loved immensely.

After all his years of working, he truly loved the retirement lifestyle.  With a no rush to do anything attitude. Incorporating his beloved daily naps. That was often described as the little one, and the big one. His sense of humor was infectious.  That being said he will forever be missed, and we love you. One last thing to be said here at the CNN newsroom, we are signing off. REST EASY.

The family will call on a Celebration of Life for Tony in the spring of 2023, date and time will be confirmed and announced.

Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Rutkauskas family.
