How does one put into words the lifetime of one strong, resilient, loving, funny, determined, woman who impacted and influenced everyone she touched in her life.  Her name was Ida Rossi.

Ida showed her true character when, at 13 years old, immigrated from Italy to a small steel company town, called Sault Ste Marie Canada, with her father Geniale Palarchio and 2 older brothers, Amedeo Palarchio and Joe Palarchio to help build a new life for the rest of the family, who were waiting back in Italy.  Ida took on the responsibility of the matriarch
of their Canadian home for 3 years until her mother Checchina and sisters, Fiorina, Miranda and Nella Palarchio could take the long journey to join them in Canada. Her little sister Lena became the First Generation Canadian, born in the family, when she arrived a few years later.

At 17, Ida fell in love and married the love of her life Vincenzo Rossi.  Together, they were a force of nature and began building their family and businesses. Together, they represented the true meaning of life - that "Family Is Everything."

As the years passed Ida was excited when her siblings also found love and marriage - Amedeo and Mary, Joe and Louise, Fiorina and Frank, Nella and Rick, Lena and Gini.

Ida and Vince created 4 amazing children,  Angela (now Briguglio), Nora Rossi, Filippo Rossi and Lenni Rossi who also carried on the legacy of "Family is Everything" with their

spouses/partners  - Santo Briguglio,  Vito Pileggi, Joanne Heaton and Ann Rossi.

Ida's pride and joy were her grandchildren: Michael, Lisa (Mike) the late Paolo Briguglio, Colin, Hunter (Darcy), Matteo and Tropea, and seeing them grow into amazing people.

Although Ida had to leave us way too early,  having succumbed to her illness on June 29, 2023, we know that
she is finally reunited with Vincenzo and both are looking down from heaven at the people she touched in her life and the beautiful family legacy she leaves behind - proving that "Family Is Everything. "

We will all miss her desperately.
