ROBERTSON Elaine BIO
Elaine Robertson

Passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord Jesus on Friday, November 2, 2018, in her 89th year.

Loved wife of the late Fawc Robertson and dear mother and friend of Bonnie (Rev. Phil Sabine). Loved and respected Gramma of Dr. Levi Sabine (Theresa) and Barclee Huggins (Stuart). Fun loving Gram-ma-ma of Lydia, Grace, Elisabeth and Lincoln. Predeceased by her parents Oris and Doris Barnett and her brothers, Lawrence and Leonard. Sister-in-law to Mrs. Joyce Perry and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Elaine was always a business woman even from her early days. She started in real estate and then opened The Elaine’s Shoppe and other fashion stores which she enjoyed for several years. When she was in her fifties she started a small retirement home on St. Joseph Island and a few years later began building Pathways Retirement Home on Trunk Road.

For over 20 years, until just before she turned 80, she owned and operated this business that she loved. Her philosophy was that each person is made in the image of God, no matter how old, and worthy of love, respect and care. She strove to make Pathways a warm and lovely home for all who stayed there. Many thanks to those who helped her in this: the families, volunteers and the staff especially Lorraine Matheson. When it was her time for care, the Sault Area Hospital did a good job. The nurses were kind, Dr. Fera and Dr. Bowen were interested and attentive and Dr. Kargbo brought fun, concern and fashion into the room.

Elaine was a loving matriarch to her family and was especially thankful to have had time to really enjoy her great grandchildren. Her faith was of most importance to her and guided her life and decisions. This was an example to all her family and such a blessing in her final days.

Friends are invited to Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. – 705-759-2522) on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 for the Memorial Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m., Bryan Windle officiating, with a reception to follow. Interment Richards Landing Cemetery at a later time. In lieu of flowers and donations please be kind to an elderly person today.
