September 4, 1968 – July 14, 2024
We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Laurie at his beloved home, age 55. Loving son of Carol Reid. Best friend and brother of George Reid. Caring uncle of Cordell Reid. Dear nephew of the late Grant Saarela (Joy), Brian Saarela (Nancy), Nestor Saarela, and Ruth Ann Saarela. Cousin of Carl Saarela, Bryce Saarela, Robert Saarela, Amy Saarela and great cousin of Chloe, Santiago and Victoria. Predeceased by his grandparents George and Dolly Saarela.
Laurie worked at Midway Lumber for over 35 years. In his spare time, he loved to scuba dive, camp, take pictures and collect treasures from his many outdoor adventures. He was a true friend of nature and animals. He was especially fond of his pet chipmunks at Midway Lumber who he kept well fed. He will be missed by all who knew him.
