With broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Len with his family by his side on Monday, May 23, 2022 at the age of 80.
Beloved husband and best friend of Marlene (nee Shewfelt) for almost 60 years. Loving father of Lee-Ann Barrett (Steve). Cherished Grandpa of Samantha and Stephanie Barrett. Predeceased by his parents Carl and Lillian (nee Garson) Reed and his father and mother-in-law Jack and Annie (nee Phillips) Shewfelt. Brother of Ken (Norma), late Clarence (late Dianne), Merl (Rosemary), Jackie and the late Joseph. Brother-in-law of the late Clifford (late Sandra), Milton (late Gerry) and the late Ralph (Iva). Special uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Len was a wonderful husband, dad and papa. Family meant everything to him. He always made time to go for a ride on his three wheeler, turn the skipping rope or bait hooks for the ladies in his life. Len had a green thumb and it showed in his beautiful gardens. He loved spending time at McCarrel's Lake enjoying the great outdoors. He enjoyed watching sports especially curling and hockey.
Family and friends are invited to visit Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East 705-759-2522) on Saturday, May 28, 2022 from 10 am to 11:30 am. Funeral service from the chapel at 12 pm. Rev. Nancy Ferguson officiating. Interment Aberdeen Cemetery. Memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to ARCH, Sault Area Hospital Foundation or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
