(July 5, 1931 – December 12, 2019) - We are very sad to announce the passing of Murray in his 89th year. He died peacefully at ARCH. Beloved husband of Sally who passed June 3, 2019. Loving father to Kim (Ted) and Murray Jr. (partner Angela). Dear brother of Dorothy Paros (John), Margaret Cooper (late Tony), Keith (Mary), Gloria Holmes (Bert), predeceased by June Koropecki (Bill), Marion Edgar (Ed), Gary Rahn, Lynn McKinnon (Jerry), Donna Harris (Bud) and Larry (Donna). He will be remembered by his nieces and nephews. Murray loved the Soo and the great outdoors, hiking, fishing and ice fishing. Snowmobiling & blueberry picking were some of his favourite pastimes. He was a competent sportsman who excelled at golf, fastball (pitched in Canadian semifinals) and billiards in addition to enjoying hockey and curling. He was honest, kind and always willing to help others. He loved music (played guitar) and enjoyed Sally’s cooking and baking at home. He retired from Algoma Steel as a Pipefitter Division 2251. Kim & Murray Jr want to send out a heartfelt thank you to family, friends, neighbours and especially our aunt Dot, uncle John, cousins Bruce, Ted and Rosemary for their support and kindness towards our parents. Our parents were able to live in their home as long as possible. A big thank you to the Home Care staff, palliative care nurses – especially Cathy, staff at ARCH and 3C at SAH. In memory of Murray, donations can be made directly to ARCH, The Canadian Cancer Society or Tracy’s Dream (tracysdream.com) or the charity of your choice (payable by cheque). A Memorial Service will be held on Friday December 20, 2019 at O'Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 215 St. James St (corner of Cathcart & St. James St) at 10:30 a.m. A Come & Go to follow upstairs at O'Sullivan Funeral Home from 11 – 1 p.m.
