It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Christopher Michael Proulx, fondly known as Chris, on January 21, 2025, at his home in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. Born on April 7, 1975, in the same city, he was a cherished son, father, nephew, cousin, little brother and friend who brought laughter and wisdom to all who knew him.

Chris was the adored son of Carolyn Proulx and was predeceased by his stepfather, Sheldon Pezzutto. His legacy of joy and kindness will live on through his son, Jackson Imbeault, who was the light of his life. His affectionate pets, Paws and Mitts, also known as Kitty, will miss his gentle touch and warm presence.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his aunts Marian Wood, Rose Aceti, and Debbie Beesley (Don), uncles Wayne Roe, Bill McEwan (Louise), Russ McEwan, Penny McEwan, and Neil McEwan. His cousins, Tammy Wood, Denise Connor, Christine McEwan, Samantha McEwan, Brayden Desloges, Jayme McEwan, Chelsey McEwan, Drake Beesley, and the young ones, Talon, Everly, Addison, and Vera. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Yvonne and Neil McEwan, aunt Lynda McEwan, uncle Tony Aceti, uncle Gary Watt, and cousins T.J. Aceti and baby Whitney McEwan.

Chris's life was also significantly shaped by his uncle Lyndsey Diotte, uncle Glen Dagg, his big brother Tom Stephenson and his friends, Jason Alexander and Chris Cain, whose influence and companionship enriched his days.

Chris had a passion for the great outdoors. He loved to fish in all seasons, whether it was on the land, cutting through the ice, or navigating the waters. His affinity for nature was paralleled by his enthusiasm for tinkering with technology. Chris found joy and relaxation in building, refurbishing, and racing remote control cars, as well as piloting RC planes. His hobbies were a testament to his dexterity and inventive spirit.

Chris was a graduate from Industrial Electrical Engineering at Sault College.

Those who knew Chris would describe him as funny, intelligent, and thoughtful. His quick wit could light up any room, and his insightful conversations were treasured by his friends and family.

Chris's presence was a gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his absence will be deeply felt. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the fifty years of life that he lived to the fullest. Chris's spirit will continue to inspire us, and the stories of his life will be recounted with smiles and warmth for years to come.

We bid farewell to Christopher Michael Proulx—a beacon of joy, a repository of wisdom, and a man of great heart. His memory will be cherished forever.

A Celebration of Life for family and close friends will be held in the Summer of 2025.
