PORTE, Geoffrey Stewart

It is with saddened hearts that the family of Geoffrey Stewart Porte announces his passing on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the age of 57. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Liz) Baker Porte. Loving father of Samantha Porte and Steven Porte. Dear brother of Michael (Linda) Porte and brother-in-law of Don Jackson. Predeceased by his sibings Judy (Jack) Detmann, Wayne Porte, and Fran Jackson. Geoffrey was an avid hobby and fix-it person. He loved fixing cars and maintaining projects around the house, making small (or sometimes large) repairs. Geoffrey loved to take road trips, being from Sault Ste. Marie, he loved fishing and outdoor activities (boating, tubing, cannonballs in the lakes). And in the winter, he really enjoyed snow machining with the family. He was an Electrical Engineer for the Coast Guard and loved piecing computer parts together, loved playing with new technology and trying new things. Fun fact: He is the youngest by many years in his family creating a large age gap, his nieces and nephews were often like extra siblings. Geoffrey will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Geoffrey’s wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to The Sanguen Health Centre Consumption and Treatment Services (CTS) in support of an amazing program focusing on those struggling with addiction and mental health (cheques only at the funeral home please).
