With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Steven Nicholas Pokno at the Sault Area Hospital.
After a courageous battle with COPD and his long resilient battle with Mental Health, with his daughters Nicole and Ashley by his side to comfort him in his final hours. Loving father to Jennifer (Ryan), Nicole, Matthew (Liz), Sarah (Evan) and Ashley (Dan). Proud grandfather of Ethan, Ashton, Paige, Grace, Kingston, Legion, Leah, Rowan, Sophie, and Kaydin. Predeceased by his parents Frances and Nick Pokno. Dear brother of Jim Lewis (Jan), Mary Ellen Belkosky, Linda Quibell, the late Pat Lewis (Debbie) and the late Linda Pokno. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Steven loved hockey and fishing. He adamantly tried to beat his highest scores at the Asteroids computer game. He enjoyed his one cream, two sweetener coffee from Timmies. He was kind, giving, caring with a sense of humor that would brighten even the worst of circumstances. His proudest moments was being a papa to his grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East, 705-759-2522) on Sunday, November 26, 2023 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Interment Goulais River Cemetery. Memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation - Critical Care Fund would be appreciated.
