PINE, Samuel "Fredrick” began his journey home to be with his family on October 31, 2024. Fred was born on April 13, 1941 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Fred is survived by his children Carrie, Lee, Cher, and Debbie; grandchildren Spencer, Samantha, Michaela (Matthew), Brianna (Dalton), Owen, and Jenna; great grandchildren; Olivia, Richard, Blake, Brooke, and Lincoln; and extended family in Garden River and Birch Island. He is preceded in death, his loving wife Louise Pine, and their son William “Barry” Pine.. His parents Samuel and Clara Pine and his sister Arlie.

Fred's life was a tapestry of rich experiences; his days in the bush, the rhythmic casting of nets in the spring, and shared laughter with family and friends. An active logger all his life he would spend his time in the bush on the land, always reflecting on the world outside. As much as he enjoyed time outdoors he loved a night out at the casino. Fred's generosity, especially towards his grandchildren, truly showcased his love for his family. His legacy is one of laughter, love, and a life tied to the Echo River and its surrounding forests.

Fred’s service will be held in Garden River First Nation at the Community Hall on November 3, 2024 from 9 am to 4pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to A.R.C.H. in his memory. The family would like to thank Maamwesying, Bayshore Nursing, Dr. Aspostel, and the Arch Hospice staff for their compassionate care.

Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Pine family.
