PIGHIN, Giacomo 'Jim' Fortunato

Peacefully passed away at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the age of 83. Beloved husband and best friend of Ernesta for 57 years. Cherished father of Laura Boston (Bob), Tami Melisek (Joe) and Dean (Stacie). Proud nonno of Matt (Laura), Emily (Jonathan), Maddie (Dakota), Mitch, Maxwell, Molly and Marcella and bis-nonno of Aveline, Jett, Ash and Teo. Predeceased by his parents Albino and Giovannina Pighin. Brother of Fausto (Lynne). Jim will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and extended family.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the SAH Foundation or London Health Sciences Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.

A special thank you to all the family, friends and neighbours who helped Jim. A heartfelt thank you to doctors Spadafora, Wilson, Buehner, Barry, Shafiee, Jonusaitis, Muirhead (LHSC), Johnson (LHSC), registered nurses Louise Cameron and Charles-Ann, the SAH Cancer Clinic, SAH Renal Dialysis Program, Bayshore homecare team, especially nurses Cindy and Dawn and care coordinator Kristen, and the Multi-Organ Transplant Program at London Health Sciences Centre, friend and pharmacist Frank Longo and his team at East End Pharmasave, and ambulance attendants Gregor and Oliver.
