It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Reno on Wednesday November 20, 2019.  With his loving family by his side, Reno was welcomed into the arms of Jesus after a courageous battle with cancer.    Devoted husband and best friend of 53 years to the love of his life, Brenda, who never left his side through it all.  Reno will be forever missed, and his memory treasured by his three girls and sons-in-law Shauna, Rhonda Lambert (Denny) and Tasha Toms (Jeff).   Cherished Nonno to the lights of his life, his grandchildren; Denver, Chase, Jadyn, Skylar, Tanner, Connor, Tru, and Walker.  He will be forever guiding and supporting them from above.   Beloved son of the late Giuseppe and late Arduina Pettenuzzo.  Special brother of Eddie (late Donna) (Verna), Anne-Marie Praysner (Walter), the late Amelia Ongaro (late Ricardo), and Valerio (Marie).  Brother-in-law of the late Gail Tomie (Jerry), Doug Shewfelt (late Linda) (Nadine), and Connie Vallee (Donnie). He will also be greatly missed by extended family and friends.   Reno has left us physically, but he will forever live within our hearts. His happy place was with his family and working in his vegetable garden. He was not a man of many words, but he shared his “words of wisdom” with a chosen few. These words will never be forgotten.   Reno was often heard saying, “life is a journey”, and now he is on to his next journey with his Saviour, where we are sure that he will be welcomed in heaven with a garden hoe, shovel, and an abundance of tomato plants (staked with hockey sticks)!  He will also be reunited with his special fastball buddies, Reno Lato and Grant McLeod.  A special thank you to Dr. M. Beduhn, Dr. K. Booth, and Dr. K. Taylor for their compassionate care and for going above and beyond to help all of us.       At Reno’s request, there will be no visitation or service.  His only request is that everyone get along and love each other, so please gather with your family and friends in honour of Reno.    Memorial donations can be made by cheque to Tracy’s Dream or ARCH.  Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) and cremation has taken place at River’s Edge Cremation Centre.
