January, 1933 - May, 2021

The day we feared for a long time is now upon us. Kenneth, Susan and Jack are devastated to announce the loss of their dear, sweet mother Ruth at the Sault Area Hospital on May 21, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was in her 88th year.

Born to and pre-deceased by Lloyd and Alma Wesley, siblings Ken and Laura and is survived by her sister Edna. Ruth was the beloved wife of Jack (predeceased) for 70 years.

Mother to the late, Albert (Nancy), Kenneth (Luan), Susan Marcinkowski, Jack (Marisa). Proud Gramma to Nick (Stacey), Hilary, Lauren Bryce (Steve), Erika (Darren), Kyle Marcinkowski (Brittany) and Jamie. Special "G.G." to Cameron and Nora Bryce. Auntie Ruth to Dave, Sam, and Dan Butkovich, Jack Nisbett, Donalma Shoust and Diana Caputo.

Mom, we watched you suffer throughout this time. Your concern was never for yourself but for the well-being of your family that you were leaving behind. Your strength and courage was amazing facing all that you endured under COVID restrictions. We will carry your strength forward in our daily lives to honor your memory and the legacy you leave behind. We do take some solace with thoughts that you are once again united with dad and Bert and are now free from pain.

Mom had several years of enjoyment in the ownership and operation of The Second Cup then Roo-mers Café, both in the Station Mall where she met many good friends along the way.

The family would like to thank the Sault Area Hospital nurses from 3A and 3B for their kindness shown to mom during her stay. She praised you all.

In abiding with mom's wishes, no funeral service will be held at this time. A private graveside service will take place at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions (payable online or by cheque) to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East, 705-759-2522). Please visit the Arthur Funeral Home website obituaries to leave a message of condolence as a keepsake for the family.
