1957 – 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brenda, who left us peacefully at the F.J. Davey Home on Monday, September 16 at the age of 67, surrounded by the love of her family.

Brenda, born to the late Susan and the late John Pavelich, was the cherished partner and devoted companion of Jamie Nylander. Loving mother of Jessica Calic (Paul) and Sara Amato. Proud grandmother of Jack and Emmy Calic. Remembered by Jamie's family Terry, Yogi, Lindsey and Jared. She is survived by her sister Suzanne Pavelich (Serge Cote) and predeceased by her brother Greg Pavelich. Special friend of the father of her children Henry Amato (Shelly). Fondly remembered by her aunt and uncle and many cousins whom she shared many wonderful memories with through the years.

Brenda dedicated over 30 years to working at Scotia Bank in the Station Mall, where she formed lifelong friendships and became a familiar and beloved face to many customers. Brenda will be missed by her bank crew who loved her dearly.

Brenda’s love for her family, especially her grandchildren, was boundless. She took immense joy in spoiling them and often spoke with great pride about her children and her partner, Jamie. Her family was her sanctuary, providing her comfort and strength, particularly in her final months.

Brenda will be missed by her cherished furry companion, Brody. They were inseparable, sharing countless long walks and cozy moments together.

With a vibrant spirit, Brenda had a passion for the color green and always joked that she should have been born on St. Patrick’s Day. Known for her love of shopping and her fondness for a cold beer, she was affectionately nicknamed “Brenda Blue” for her unwavering love of blue lights over the years.

Christmas was Brenda’s favorite time of year, and she enjoyed decorating her home from top to bottom, embracing the festive spirit with joy and enthusiasm. Brenda’s warmth and kindness touched many lives. Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find solace in knowing she is free from suffering.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the staff at F.J. Davey Home’s Apple 3 unit for their compassionate care. We are so appreciative of everything you did for our family, especially during the final week. We cherish you all. We would also like to thank Dr. Patterson and Sandra Coutu for their care during our mother's time with F.J Davey Home.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre on Monday, September 23, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Helen Smith officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Family and friends are encouraged to wear something green in honour of Brenda.
