Passed away at the Sault Area Hospital on Monday, August 24, 2020 at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her son Paul Michael Pressel. Mother of Lee Pressel of Sault Ste. Marie and Linda Sierant (Richard) of Enterprise, ON and Lori Baker (Lance) and family of Fredericton, NB. Also survived by six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Leona was the daughter of the late Leif and Mary Paulson of Saint John, NB. Leona was a member of the Retired Teachers of Ontario, District 3 since relocating to the Algoma district. She retired from teaching in 1989 having been a Secondary School Teacher for the Hamilton Board of Education for 19 and a half years. Many Saultites may remember Leona's hairdressing salon in the l960's, Beauty Fair Salon. In keeping with Leona's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family committal service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions (payable by cheque or online) to ARCH or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
