It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected but peaceful passing of Elvira on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the age of 96. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Gennaro. Devoted mother of Maria, Saverio, Frank (Joanne), Lena Seaton (Derek) and Gino. Loving Nana of Alexandra Seabrook (Travis), Jordan Pasqua (Sasha Ekomiak), Brent Seaton (Terra) and Breanne Seaton (Jordan Allick). Proud Great Nana of Emmett Seabrook, Eli Seabrook and Hayes Seaton. Daughter of the late Giuseppe and the late Maria Mannarino. Sister of the late Michele Mannarino (late Margherita), late Teresa Napoletano (late Giuseppe), late Nicola Mannarino (late Rita), late Vittorio Mannarino (Emma), late Carmela Console (late Giovanni), late Vincenzo Mannarino (Luisa), late Giulia Cicchello (late Francesco) and the late Pietro Mannarino (Rosaria). Daughter-in-law of the late Saverio and the late Maria Pasqua. Sister-in-law of the late Rosaria Turo (late Francesco), late Vincenzo Pasqua (late Francesca), late Carmine Pasqua (Ida), late Giovanni Pasqua (Angela) and the late Francesco Pasqua (Maria). Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy and France. Special friend of Lisa and Anna and many other dear friends at the Finnish Rest Home.
Elvira was a hard worker with an exceptional work ethic and spent over 10 years as the Head Cook at the Royal Hotel. She always spoke fondly of her time spent at the Royal and how she enjoyed bringing people happiness through her delicious dishes. From pasta to pastries it’s hard to narrow down just one dish that was her best. Elvira spent many years helping to look after her grandchildren when they were young, many memories and laughs are shared when remembering these special times. Elvira was a kind, loving, woman who loved her family more than anything. She was the matriarch of our family and will be deeply missed by all who had the honour of knowing her.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at 1:00 p.m. at St. Veronica’s Catholic Church with Father Peter Nwachukwu officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the Ontario Finnish Rest Home Foundation – Kotitalo Fund (OFRA) or the SAH Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
