Died peacefully in her 82nd year surrounded by the love of her family. Beloved wife of the late Jack. Loving mother of Mari Jayne Heidt (Brian), Betty Anne Torrance (Rod), Jack (Lonnie), Bonnie (late Kenneth McLuckie), Sherri Zorzit (Jim) and Patti Buck (Darryl) and was predeceased by her twin sons Ronald and Donald and son Richard. Fun loving nana of Sandi (André), Jenifer (Tom), Matt (Jenn), Greg (Tonya), Kendra, Kerri (Matt), Ryan (Rachelle), Eric (late Sarah), Colin (Carla), Jenna (John), Mark (Stephanie), Luke, Bradley (Cynthia), Jonathon, Terry (Lilli), Kyle and Katelyn (Marcos). She was especially proud of her 20 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Leo and Jane Bentley. Much “younger” sister of Betty Turnbull (Neil). Beloved sister of Larry Bentley (Dolores), the late Ronald, late Joseph and late Michael Bentley. Sister-in-law of the late Stan (Daphnee), late Victor (Allison), late Victoria, late Leonard (Marty) (late Gloria), Virginia, late Anastasia, late Patricia, late William, Candace (Herb), Leslie (Janice), Ted (Rose), Shirley (John) and Betty (Bob). Gayle is survived by countless cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Gayle was known by a variety of names: Mom, Nana, Mrs. “O”. In addition to being married to Jack for 58 years and raising their family together, Gayle was a trendsetter and was the first female movie theater manager (Odeon Theatres) in Canada. Above all else, Gayle’s passions were her family and her faith. At Gayle’s request, cremation has already taken place. There will be a memorial mass at Precious Blood Cathedral on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., Father Hamish Currie officiating, interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery to follow. The family will receive condolences at Precious Blood Cathedral at 10:00 a.m. prior to mass. In lieu of flowers it was Gayle’s wish that donations be made to Light the Cross or Precious Blood The Journey. Special thanks to Dr. Adrianna Schamp, nurse Debbie and everyone at the Group Health Centre for many years of dedicated care to mom. Many thanks to Elaine at CCAC and the doctors, nurses and staff at the Sault Area Hospital Emergency Department, 3C and ICU who assisted mom in her final days.
