It is with profound sadness having to announce the passing of Mrs. Emilia Oktaba.

Emilia passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 6, 2022. Emilia was the beloved wife of the late Walter Oktaba and the precious mother of Lydia Oktaba (late May 2022) and her surviving, heartbroken daughter, Irene Oktaba.

Lydia and Irene were blessed with parents who provided them with a loving and caring upbringing as well as every opportunity for success in life and love of God.

Emilia created mouth-watering meals not only for her family but also guests were always welcomed warmly and hospitably.

She was an outstanding seamstress and also created many exquisite embroidered works of art. Emilia loved nature and the outdoors. She was known for her beautiful plant-filled rock gardens which were frequently enjoyed by visiting neighbours and friends.

Friends may visit St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church (293 St. George's Avenue East) on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 10 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11 am with Father Michael Hayes officiating.

Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations (payable by cheque) may be made to St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church.

Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East, 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Oktaba family.

"I hold you close within my heart,
 And there you will remain.
To walk with me throughout my life, until we meet again."
