Passed away peacefully in her 82nd year on Thursday, July 18th, 2024
Beloved daughter of the late Richmond and Florence O’Brien. A very special sister of Lois, predeceased by her sister Irene and brother Peter of Winnipeg and sister to Earl of Sault Ste. Marie.
Ruth was a graduate of the Plummer Hospital nursing class of 1965. Ruth worked most of her career on the 4th floor at the Plummer in the Obstetrics and Labour area.
At Ruth's request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment at St. Luke's Columbarium (160 Brock St) will take place on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 11 am with the Very Rev. Jay Koyle.
A special thanks to Dr. Jennifer Patterson for the wonderful and caring attention given to Ruth. Also a very special thank you to a dear friend Brenda Hewgill and her family and a wonderful neighbour to me, Louise Joyal. To her nursing classmate and faithful supporter through this difficult time Brenda Lapish, Thank you. To the Sault Area Hospital Emergency Department, especially Jason, and all the wonderful doctors whom helped Ruth, thanks so much.
Memorial contributions to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Ruth has fought the good fight and finished her course. She has kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for Ruth a crown of righteousness which the Lord the Judge shall give her at that day.
