Robert John Nolan, a cherished family man, and passionate lover of the great outdoors, departed from this world on November 10, 2024, after an abrupt battle with lung cancer. Born on August 21, 1956, in the serene town of Blind River, Robert's zest for life and enduring spirit touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He took his last breath surrounded by the love of his daughter Tammy, his granddaughter Chrystal, and long-time friends and neighbours Keith and Dyna, at Matthew's Memorial Hospital in Richard's Landing.

Robert's journey through life was marked by his adventurous soul and boundless love. He was a guiding light to his beloved daughter, Tammy Nolan, and a hero to his adoring grandchildren, Curtis Nolan-Coneybeare (Kristin), Chrystal Gervasi (Joey), Veronica Hunt, and Anthony Hunt III. His loving wife, Marisleidy Hernandez, was his partner in both life's trials and its many joys, along with his cherished stepdaughter, Leyanis Hernandez, and his treasured son, Robertico Hernandez. Robert's brother, Vern Nolan (Karen), along with his nephew, Art Nolan (Erin), niece, Jennifer Nolan, and nephew, John Nolan, and many more nieces and nephews, will fondly remember the wisdom and warmth he shared.

Before his retirement, Robert was a dedicated employee at Algoma Steel, where his strong work ethic and innovative mind were greatly valued. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to various business ventures where he was not only successful but also respected and admired for his integrity and leadership.

After his retirement, Robert discovered a newfound love for travel, which took him to the vibrant island of Cuba. It was there that he met his wife, Marisleidy, and embraced a new family with open arms. Together, along with his stepdaughter Leyanis, they welcomed their son Robertico into the world, adding to the rich tapestry of his life.

Robert's passion for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him. He found solace and joy in the rural home he built with his own hands, where he spent countless hours cutting firewood and immersing himself in the tranquility of nature. His love for the wilderness was only matched by his love for his family and friends, with whom he cherished every holiday and special occasion. His home was often the hub of laughter, stories, and the creation of lasting memories.

Robert was a man who lived his life with purpose and joy. His adventurous spirit led him to explore, his loving nature made him a pillar of his family, and his wisdom was a source of guidance to many. Those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with Robert found in him a loyal friend, a compassionate confidant, and an inspiring mentor.

As we bid farewell to Robert John Nolan, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest. His legacy of love, adventure, and wisdom will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. Though we mourn his passing, we take solace in the countless memories and the indelible impact he had on our lives.

Robert's journey through life has come to a peaceful end, but his spirit will forever wander the landscapes he adored, and his laughter will echo in the places he filled with joy. He will be deeply missed, yet eternally remembered as a man who truly knew how to embrace the beauty of life.
