Passed away peacefully at the Mauno Kaihla Koti, Ontario Finnish Resthome, on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Tauno (Tom) Niemi. Loving mother of Melba Kinnunen (Heikki) and the late Mildred Hansson (Vello). Cherished grandmother of Lora Lynn Desrosiers (Denis), Wendy Kai Hansson Hubbs (Kim) of N. Vancouver, B.C., Terry Kinnunen (Dianna) of Calgary, Alberta, Dale Hansson (Karin) of Cranberry, PA, Robert Kinnunen (Debra) of Vermillion, S.D. Great grandmother of Brandon and Aimee Desrosiers, Hayley and Jessica Hubbs, Kailen Kinnunen, Justin, Kelsi and Kip Kinnunen. Sister of Toini Hovi (late George) of Sudbury. Alice is predeceased by her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Also remembered by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Finland. Alli (Alice) was a founding member and volunteer with the Ontario Finnish Resthome, the Algoma Folk Arts and many other organizations. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Saturday, June 11, 2005 from 11 am until time of funeral service in the chapel at 12 pm. Rev. Raija Perttula officiating.
